Camila Diaz.

Camila is committed to creating spaces and rituals for people to access their inner resources and wisdom. She is passionate about connecting self-care practices, peace strategies and social justice. She believes that when people are reminded of their self-worth and are given a space to work with their hearts, minds, bodies and ancestry, they can build resilience and peace from the inside out, and transformation and healing can take place. 

In her home country of Colombia, Camila spent more than 15 years implementing peace education projects with communities affected by the armed conflict and trauma-conscious mindfulness. Camila has been committed to teaching trauma-conscious mindfulness to youth and communities navigating diverse challenges and systems in New York City since 2018.

Camila worked with the Lineage Project as a teacher and Program Coordinator for six years until the organization closed its doors in August 2024. She also worked at exalt youth, an organization that works with court-involved youth in New York City. She was a core member of Respira, one of the first mindfulness organizations in Colombia, since its inception and also worked with Breathe International, an international non-governmental organization that seeks to establish mindfulness as a peacebuilding strategy for diverse groups worldwide.

Camila facilitates groups in both Spanish and English, teaching trauma-conscious mindfulness and somatics. She is a certified mindfulness teacher through Lineage Project, Mindful Schools, Breathe International, and Respira in Colombia and a certified yoga teacher through Abhaya Yoga in NYC. Camila She holds a Master’s Degree in Peace Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has also had Somatic Experiencing training and additional training with Resmaa Menakem.
