Felicia Tomasko

Felicia Tomasko.

Felicia is a renowned Yoga and Ayurveda Instructor, as well as a Registered Nurse. Channeling her expertise in cognitive neuropsychology, plant biochemistry, and yoga therapy, Felicia teaches Robin students the importance of self-care.

Felicia Marie Tomasko, RN, E-RYT-500, C-IAYT, YACEP, CAP, believes in the importance of the daily practices of compassion and kindness. Her focus is on how to fully inhabit and practice with the body we have right now and to cultivate a healthy relationship with all parts of ourselves: body, mind, heart, and spirit. She teaches a heartfelt exploration of how to connect with our own internal energy through asana (posture), pranayama (breath), meditation and concentration, and relaxation. Felicia has an active private practice in both Yoga and Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is one of the traditional systems of health and healing in India and it shares an interconnected view of body, mind, breath, heart, health and spirit with Yoga. The dual systems of Yoga and Ayurveda, while seemingly ancient and esoteric, hold vital lessons for us to learn how to live with intent and address the needs of living in the modern world. Felicia believes in humorously making these concepts relevant to modern, everyday life.

Felicia integrates more than thirty years of study of Yoga and Ayurveda with her training and active licensure as a registered nurse. Her background includes work in cognitive neuropsychology and plant biochemistry research and she holds degrees in nursing and environmental biology.

Felicia is a former president of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine and served for nine years on the board of directors of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the Academic Collaboration for Integrative Health. She is an active member of the Yoga Therapy community and teaches on the faculty of the Yoga Studies Extension Program and the Yoga Therapy RX Program at Loyola Marymount University. Felicia leads programs in Ayurveda and Self-Care. A trained Ayurvedic Chef, she is a former faculty member at the Natural Epicurean, specializing in food as medicine and Ayurvedic theory. In 2002, Felicia was part of the team that founded LA YOGA Magazine where she is the current Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Director at Bliss Network.
