
Dr. Galen Buckwalter has been a research psychologist for over 25 years, He began his career as a professor at USC where his research focused on Alzheimer’s disease and on the effects of hormones on the brain during pregnancy.
He went on to start a behavioral outcomes research program at Kaiser Permanente where he continued his work on Alzheimer’s disease. However, through a number of serendipitous events, he became the Lead Inventor of the assessment & matching system as the Chief Science Officer for eHarmony. During his time there up to 4% of all marriages in America happened after the couple had been matched by his algorithm.
Galen has continued to work in both academia & industry. His current company, psyML, is the international leader in utilizing psychometric data in AI systems. This combination allows AI to develop much more personalized ways of interacting with people.
